Who We Are

MyPocketCoach / About us

Teaching is hard. We get it.

That’s exactly why MyPocketCoach started. We wanted to take some of the stress out of teaching and make learning a bit less daunting for everyone else.

Practical resources, proper feedback and real support. No overcomplicated theories. No endless paperwork for the sake of it. Just things that make a difference in the classroom and beyond.

Where it began

A small idea that refused to stay small.

Built in a school.
Made for the real world.

MyPocketCoach didn't begin with a grand business plan. We started by creating resources for the school we worked in, because we knew first-hand how much time teachers spend planning, marking and trying to make lessons click.

We wanted materials that were straightforward, engaging and genuinely useful. The kind teachers could pick up and use without needing another hour just to work out what to do with them.

They worked. Other people noticed. Word spread, and what began as a small-scale project grew into something much bigger.

Today, we're a team of qualified teachers and examiners, still driven by the same idea: make teaching more manageable, and make learning more imaginative, thought-provoking and accessible.

What we do

Support that goes beyond the worksheet.

We work with educators, learners and families. The needs might be different, but our approach is the same: make it clear, make it useful and make every bit of effort count.

01 / SCHOOLS & COLLEGES

Less admin. More teaching.

We help teaching teams with marking, planning, teaching resources and practical training. It's support designed around busy classrooms and the people running them, not an idealised version of teaching where everyone has endless free time.

Schools and colleges can enquire about tailored packages by emailing support@mypocketcoach.co.uk.

02 / TUITION

Proper support, face to face.

Our in-person Maths and English tuition provides structured, confidence-building lessons through private one-to-one and small shared sessions. Learners get resources, homework, marking and personalised feedback along the way.

Maths · English Language · English Literature support for younger learners
03 / GRADE PORTAL

Don't just practise. Know what to improve.

Practising independently? You can submit Maths and English work through our Grade Portal for marking and feedback. It's an opportunity to understand what's working, where you're losing marks and what to focus on next.

Maths & English work · Marking · Actionable feedback

For learners and families

Support at your pace. Not someone else's.

In-person tuition

Maths and English, without the guesswork.

Maybe it's a GCSE resit. Maybe it's a topic that's never quite made sense. Or maybe you're returning to education after a long time away. We work through the gaps properly, with clear explanations and enough practice to help it stick.

Adult English tuition focuses on English Language, while learners aged 16 and under can access support with English Language and Literature. Maths tuition is also available through private or shared learning.

Grade Portal

Your work deserves more than a score.

When you're practising on your own, it isn't always obvious why an answer works — or why it doesn't. Our Grade Portal gives you a way to have your Maths or English work marked and receive feedback you can actually use for your next attempt.

It's useful whether you're working independently or using it alongside tuition. And because the portal is digital, you can access it wherever you study.

How we work

A few things we're quite particular about.

Clear beats complicated.

If instructions take longer to understand than the task itself, something needs changing. We believe good materials should make things easier to grasp.

Learning should spark something.

We want learners to think, question, imagine and have a go — not just memorise an answer and move on.

Feedback should lead somewhere.

A mark is useful. Knowing what to do with it is better. We aim to make next steps clearer, not leave you guessing.

Teachers need support too.

We know what the workload looks like. Our job is to be genuinely helpful, not add another layer of work.

A question we actually get

Are there real people behind MyPocketCoach?

Yes. Actual human beings. Imagine that.

It's a bit of a shame that this even needs saying, but we understand why people ask. We're a real team, and the work doesn't happen by magic. Resources take time to make, and marking takes time to do properly.

We've become efficient because there are plenty of hands contributing, not because we're promising instant fixes. We're based in Bedfordshire, but our Grade Portal can support learners well beyond it.
